EQ2 Glossary

Ever wondered what some of EQ2 abbreviations mean? Players will often use a lot of abbreviations in Everquest 2. I try to compile a list of different abbreviations and terms used in this fun mmorpg. If you are wondering about hints and tricks for EQ2, besides this blog, you could also check out How to make money with EQ2.

Expansion packs

  • EoF = Echoes of Faydwer. This is one of the EQ2 expansions.
  • DoF = Desert of Flames. Another one of the EQ2 expansions that include many different zones.
  • Adventure pack = Small expansion packs with bonus content such as extra zones and quests.
  • RoK = Ruins of Kunark. This one caps the level max at 80 and achievement points at 140. Many different zones, but mostly content for under level 20 or over level 65. This expansion includes all the previous expansions and all adventure packs.
  • TSO = The Shadow Odyssey. This one raises the achievement level cap to 200 points, five new heritage quests, a new dungeon system and much more.
  • Zone abbreviations

Everquest 2 has numerous zones, here I try to list some of the more common ones.

  • PoF = Pillars of Flame. This is a level 50 plus zone off Sinking Sands.
  • CL = Commonlands. Zone adjacent to West Freeport, Darklight Wood, Nektulos Forest, Fallen Gate and some other zones.
  • WFP = West Freeport. One of the city areas in the evil city of Freeport.
  • NFP = North Freeport.
  • SFP = South Freeport.
  • EFP = East Freeport. This is the city area (in Freeport) in which Renny Parvat is located. Renny Parvat is the collection NPC for Freeport. He is a ratonga standing on docks not far from the carpets that take you to Sinking Sands.
  • FG = Fallen Gate. 20ish zone off CL.
  • ANT = Antonica. The good (as in non evil) version of CL. Antonica is adjacent to Thundering Steppes, Qeynos and some other zones.
  • CBK = Crushbone Keep. 30ish heroic mobs. It has turned meaner than in EQ1, but so has most of the zones one remembers from Everquest 1.
  • LP = Loping Plains.
  • FoB = Field of Bone. An area in the zone of Fens Nathsar. Kurns tower is located here. Remember Field of Bone from EQ1? Level 10-20 mobs? This new version has lvl 74 mobs running around.
  • Common expressions

Ever wondered what people are referring to in chat channels? Here is some of the more common ones.

  • FTW = For the win.
  • LFG = Looking for group.
  • LFP = Looking for players.
  • disco = I first heard this term in connection with the RoK (Ruins of Kunark) expansion. It means nifty or cool basically. Around that time is when the treasured items started having nice stats and bonuses to them.
